This one-hour workshop is perfect for anyone who can thread a needle, and who wants a portable project they can take anywhere.
You don't need to buy anything!
I'll demonstrate three methods - you choose your favorite.
You'll love watching your piece grow!
Not too soon, but soon enough to reuse them and save time.
Less waste when it makes sense, but also saving yourself work when that's more appropriate.
We'll work together to create your first hexagon and then easily make a few more until you have enough needed for your choice of pincushion or coaster. You'll be completely finished in just a few hours. Below you'll see the real projects that previous students have made.

I was taught English paper piecing by my mother almost 40 years ago, and I’ve been loving it ever since. The variety of shapes and patterns you can create — including curves — keeps me constantly engaged.
I’ve won ribbons for both traditional and modern EPP quilts and use the technique not only for quilts, but also for bags, pouches, and even clothing. In recent years, I’ve leaned into curved and abstract EPP, and I’ll show you examples of those in this workshop so you can see what’s possible.
My classes are grounded in strong basics. I walk through each step clearly and answer questions as we go. I’m not a precision quilter — but EPP makes it wonderfully approachable. It’s portable, meditative, and easy to take on trips or stitch in front of the TV.
I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!
